today i shall give an account of what actually happened to my handphone SE K610i that fateful day.
basically it happened during my DG's cycling trip to Johor before school started. we wanted to cycle 20+km to Desaru from a small town, have lunch there, and cycle back to the town for seafood dinner. my friend suggested that we could tapao some mee goreng and have it as lunch. so we did that, and put the packets into my friend's backpack (which had my belongings in it, including the aforementioned handphone). the rest is history.
when we reached Desaru, found a nice spot for lunch (by the beach), my friend opened his bag and alas! everything smelled of mee goreng. we quickly took everything out from the bag, and i soon realised the magnitude of the problem when i took my belongings from my friend. everything else could be wiped clean, but the mee goreng oil had gone into my handphone, such that everything was oily, the display screen was orange in colour (due to the mee goreng oil), and my handphone smelled of mee goreng. amazingly the handphone was still working fine, but oil was constantly oozing out from it. my friend washed his backpack that night such that it was very clean the next day, but i could never possibly wash a handphone, right?
when i got back to Singapore, i tried as best as i could to explain to my parents what actually happened to my handphone, and i basically gave up any hope on the handphone. this was because i reasoned that the handphone was quite old already, and my service plan was expiring soon, which means i can get a new handphone once i renew my existing plan. to me, that was the end of the story for the handphone. in the meantime i could just use an old handphone.
however, my good old dad felt very wasted that the handphone was just being abandoned there, so he took it to a church friend to have him try to fix it. amazingly, he succeeded, and now i'm currently using my mee goreng handphone, without much problems! the first thing i did when i got back the handphone was to smell it to see if there is still the mee goreng smell, and it does not! my dad's church friend suggested that i should trade in the handphone while it's still worth something, so i'll probably do that when my plan expires next month.
thank God that everything ended well, and i still get to use my handphone even after that mee goreng experience!
oh, by the way, my friend and i will not eat mee goreng for some time. =)
