Back from Mission
Sunday, 15 July 2007

Finally i have the chance to sit down and update my blog! it has been about 1 and a half months since i last updated something here. Anyway my mission trip was a blast! when my friends ask me how the trip was, i would always say that it was tiring but fun! i really thank God that i had the opportunity to go for this mission trip and i learnt so much from the trip!

one thing that struck me was the Thai culture. the Thais are so nice and polite! they will always do the "wai" (bow with palms together in front of face), and they are always smiling. no wonder Thailand is known as the land of smiles! whatever happens, the Thais will always say "mai phen rai" (never mind), and they are willing to help us out whenever we need it, always with a smile and a "mai phen rai".

another thing which struck me was the spiritual condition of the Thais and Thailand in general. at first, before i left for Thailand, i was quite skeptical about reaching out to the Thais, but God proved me wrong!! haha... we had people who prayed to receive Christ, and a lot of them expressed desire to know more about Christianity! they were hesitant to receive Christ on the spot, but they wanted to know more, and i think that's already a very encouraging sign.

now after coming back from Thailand, i feel that God used the mission trip to help me to be spiritually ready for the coming academic year in Crusade ministry, especially when i'm serving in the Evangelism comm. i pray that i will not forget what i have learnt, and will really make use of it. i pray also that i will not lose the excitement and passion for reaching out to the lost!

giving thanks at 22:13 :)
